Annual Fund Appeal Letter

June 2, 2008

Dear Marin Ballet Families and Friends,

All of our nearly 200 students in Levels 1-9 have now completed their spring performances.  As we look forward to our Pre-Ballet performances this coming weekend and the close of our busy spring performing season, it’s a good time to remind you that Marin Ballet needs your participation in the 2007-08 Annual Fund before the end of our fiscal year on June 30.

Does Marin Ballet rely on my participation?
Yes.  Tuition accounts for only 60% of our budgeted income. Performance ticket sales, fundraising events, corporate sponsorships, and grants all help us reach 90% of our annual budget.  Contributions to our Annual Fund make up the remaining 10% of our budget.  Every gift counts!

What size gift should I make?
For those of you who have never contributed and would like to start, perhaps a gift of $45 - in honor of Marin Ballet’s 45th Anniversary year! - would be a good way to begin your participation.

For those of you who have given in the past but have not yet contributed this year, please consider matching or increasing the amount of last year’s gift.

For those of you who have already given to this year’s Annual Fund, we thank you most sincerely and hope that you will continue your support next year.

What does my contribution help support?
A very wide variety of important organizational needs, including scholarship awards, staff salaries, and operating expenses, as well as the wonderful spring performances that we’ve been enjoying over the past several weeks.

Participation!  That’s what it’s all about.  Your gift, regardless of size, makes a huge difference for Marin Ballet, this year and every year.

Please support the Annual Fund by sending in your contribution by June 30!

With warm regards,

F. Lawrence Ewing
Executive Director
